When COVID-19 hit, most activities to fight neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) stopped. But the safe continuation of NTD programs is essential to further progress against these diseases and to improve the health of vulnerable people around the world.

A new resource Practical Approaches to Implementing WHO Guidance for Neglected Tropical Disease (NTD) Programs in the Context of COVID-19: Mass Drug Administration (MDA) can help countries put World Health Organization (WHO) guidance on the safe restarting of NTD programs into practice. Providing real-world examples and ideas, this resource supports national NTD programs to develop country-specific plans and procedures for mass drug administration.

This is a result of a collaboration among USAID's Act to End NTDs | East and Act to End NTDs | West programs, as well as ministries of health and other key partners.
