Children in Laos during a survey for lymphatic filariasis.

Laos’ Ministry of Health has driven impressive progress against both trachoma and lymphatic filariasis (LF). In 2017, Laos officially eliminated trachoma from within its borders and the country is on track to eliminate LF by 2023. Since 2010, USAID has provided targeted support to the country’s national trachoma and lymphatic filariasis (LF) programs to consolidate and sustain their achievements towards elimination.
