Paula Majumdar

Gender Specialist

Paula Majumdar is a Gender Specialist at WI-HER with extensive experience in project and proposal management in areas of social inclusion, capacity building, and gender-based violence. Prior to joining WI-HER Paula worked as at Palladium on the Health Policy Plus (HP+) project, where she managed a sustainability and transition portfolio in El Salvador. At Palladium Paula designed a Gender Equality and Social Inclusion tool and developed a process by which to integrate GESI into various project designs. Paula has experience working with a wide variety of donors including the Global Fund, USAID, and the Department of State, while working at organizations such as IREX, the Global Gender Program, the Global Women’s Institute, and Banyan Global. She has also worked as Managing Editor for Global Health and Diplomacy News where she wrote pieces for both print and online magazine. Recently, Paula completed the GenderPro Capacity Building course created by UNICEF and George Washington University. She has also volunteered as a Crisis Intervention Advocate at the D.C. Rape Crisis Center. Paula holds an M.A. in Gender and Development from George Washington University as well as a B.A. in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia. She speaks fluent Spanish, English, and Bengali.
